I am running Captivate 2017, non-responsive project. When setting up CC to 100% width across my project and publishing as HTML...checking scalable HTML content... the closed captions do not show up at all when viewing my course in Chrome. It seems to work in IE. This was never an issue in version 9. Can someone else test and verify this is a bug? Thanks

"Send E-Mail" Fails in Chrome
Using Captivate 5, I have created a number of quizzes that display the "Send E-Mail" button on the reporting slide. If I publish the quiz as an exe file and run it, "Send E-Mail" works correctly. (Outlook opens with an email containing the quiz results ready for dispatch). Likewise if I publish to html and open the html file in Internet Explorer or Firefox, but if I open the html file in Chrome, the "Send E-Mail" does nothing.
I have disabled all Chrome extensions, enabled pop-ups, and disabled any Google Labs "About: Flags" I had been using, but "Send E-Mail" still will not work.
Given that "Send E-Mail" is functioning correctly in IE and Firefox, this is not a Captivate fault, but I would be grateful for any suggestions as to where else I might look in my Chrome settings to get this working.

Does Cp5 support .mp3 format?
Hello All.
I am using Cp5 trial version. I also have Cp4 in my machine.
I hv a requirement of synchronizing a set of audio files to one video.
i will try to make it more easy to understand. I have a video(screen captured video of an application) without audio. I have to add audio to that video in Captivate.
i have to synchronize multiple audio files to single video.
I hv taken a highlight box & imported an .mp3 format audio into it. But when I see it in library a duplicate to the same audio file is created in .wav format. I have selected the unused items to delete, then the .mp3 file got deleted & .wav file exist in the library. But the size of the .wav file is 5 times more than that of .mp3.
Its the same with all the audio files I import.
I dnt want to use the files large in size. Why did this happen & what is the solution? Any kind of help would be appreciated.

Can drag source be a group on drag/drop interactions?
I want to create a drag and drop interaction where the drag source is a group with a text box and image, but when I select the group and click next, I get an error that I must select at least one item to proceed. I don’t want the drag source to be just text, or just an image. Is there a workaround for this? I know this is possible in Storyline, but I’m hoping Captivate has similar functionality. I’m using Captivate 2019. Thanks!

Variable text incomplete
I have a help button at the top of all my pages (created on slide 1 and then timing set to Rest of Project). In the rollover state I have a text box which I want to display two variables, the learner's name, and different help text depending on which page the user is on. I'm using advanced actions to update this second help text variable whenever it needs to change. The issue is that even though the box is large enough, it never displays all the text.
Here is the rollover state which includes a text caption of both variables.
Here are the two different outputs which cut off both assistantMessage variables. Any suggestions on why this would be happening? I'm using Captivate 2019. Thanks!

Slide Notes and Closed Captions
Hello,
Does anyone know if there is any way to access the slide notes or closed caption text and bring it into a text box on the screen? I guess what I am really wanting to know is if there is a variable that the System uses to turn the Slide Notes into Closed Caption

Give the user x seconds to click a button before a highlight box appears around that button
I thought this would be pretty simple but I seem to be at an impasse. I want to give the user a certain amount of time to click a button on a slide, and, after that time has elapsed I want a highlight box to appear around the button to inform the user where to click. I've been playing around with system variables such as cpInfoCurrentTime and cpInfoElapsedTimeMS, but just haven't been able to get this to work, much to my chagrin. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks.

Triggering the Submit Button on a Quiz slide Using Javascript
Hello All,
I am collecting learner behavior data via variables and advanced actions through-out all of my Captivate 2019 course. My plan was to report these final variable values out using hidden Quiz questions (I do something similar in Articulate 360). Each course has a test (quiz) which is set up as SCORM 2004. With this I can get a question analysis report from my LMS that gives me all the questions and the learner responses. I then get my hidden variable data out to perform additional analysis on.
I have been able to successfully get the data i want into the system variable cpQuizInfoAnswerChoice on a Quiz Short Answer slide. The problem is that even though I am putting a continue line and next line and submit line (tried them all) into my javascript. The slide is still not moving forward - it wants the user to click the submit button.
Is there a way to bypass/trigger the submit button other than having it clicked on a Quiz slide??
Any other suggestions for what I'm trying to do will be appreciated.

Fonts have changed in ALL Captivate projects
I have used a Captivate 8 file (.cptx) as a template/placeholder in multiple projects. I customized the original file, including changing fonts, then used 'save as' to create many new courses from the "template". Today I opened one of the captivate projects and the fonts had reverted back to the original file, then realized that ALL my Captivate files had reverted back.
The projects are stored on both my PC's hard drive and on a network drive. I verified that the fonts in all the Captivate files are also wrong when opened by a coworker on another PC, to rule out that it is my Captivate preferences or settings.
Any thoughts on why this may have happened?

Cannot see elearning assets
I installed the characters to C:\Users\Public\Public Documents\Adobe. I can see the assets in the folders but when I try to access through Adobe, either from "My Assets" or through the Media drop down they do not show up?

Troubleshooting Captivate Review 8
I have recently updated to Captivate 8 and am now interested in using the Captivate Reviewer functionality. The documentation available for this function doesn't seem to match the actual features available in the application. I am not able to get this function to work. I am getting errors when trying to create the shared files.
I have not been able to find any help in the Adobe site's resources.

"Send Data On Every Slide" option vs "SendTrackingDataAtEnd" template
I have read many times the great article by Rod here http://www.infosemantics.com.au/adobe-captivate/reduce-load-on-your-learning-management-sy stem.
I am not sure about the difference between the option "SendTrackingDataAtEnd" - a template that can be selected at the top of the Reporting settings and the option "Send Data On Every Slide" that is found in the LMS Advanced Settings.
What if I choose "SendTrackingDataAtEnd" as a template but also tick the option "Send Data On Every Slide". Wouldn't they be in conflict?

Blank Project with VR Slide Publishes and Hotspots Don't Work in Rescalable HTML5
Hi All:
I have been waiting for Adobe support to get back to me, but a client is waiting....
ABOUT MY PROJECT - I created a blank Captivate file. I added to that file a VR slide. Within that slide I have multiple Hotspots, most only to show Display Text. Two to navigate to a different (not VR) slide.
PROBLEM - No hotspot works upon publish.
SYMPTOMS :
- Previewing HTML5 in Browser results in functioning Hotspots as expected / intended. It is only upon publishing and reviewing in the same browser as the preview worked in... that the hotspots no longer function.
- This brokenness is apparent in:
- Windows 10 Captivate (64 bit)
- Chrome
- IE
- Firefox
- Edge
- Windows 8 Captivate (32 Bit)
- Chrome
- IE
- MacOS Mojave (64 Bit)
- Safari
- Chrome
- Firefox
- Windows 10 Captivate (64 bit)
- The Adobe support person accessed my Captivate file and recreated the same issue on her machine
- The Adobe support person created a brand new file and created a single slide with a single hotspot and recreated the issue.
- I have done the same with multiple computers
- And finally, frustratingly, the issue persists regardless of the version of Captivate 2019 - I have a different computer with the older (version 1 2019)) of Captivate and the issue is there too.
I am finding it difficult to believe I am the only stupid SOB who has attempted to do this before, but, be that as it may - I am really hoping the smart people here can help a guy out.

Execute advanced action within JavaScript
Hello everyone,
I am storing LevelProgress variable at localStorage and I want to execute different Advanced Actions based on values of LevelProgress.
However nowhere in documentation I can find how to execute Advanced Action with JavaScript.
Have anyone tried to do that?
I'd like to achieve this without creating extra buttons/click boxes/objects is possible. Purely triggering JavaScript on Slide enter.

Small font in Slide Notes is killing me.
I do a lot of work on technical content, acronyms, and sentences that must be painstakingly edited in Slide Notes (Text-to-Speech) to ensure that when redndered to audio they sound right. The small font is a constant source of annoyance when editing, especially if I need to select a lower case L or similar character.
Can I increase the size of this font?

How can I get the result of this function to display on my slide?
Hello everybody,
I'm struggling with a task I have to complete, any help is very much welcome at this point.
Context: at the end of the elearning I'm developing, I need to include a slide (that will be printed for archives and payment and stuff ) with the duration the trainee took. Each trainee is going to have a different time due to questions, quiz etc. I also like to say that I'm more a specialist in the stuff I teach then in javascript or advanced actions.
What I did: on the page where I want to display the time, I trigger an advanced action.
In it, I assign the variable FinalTime with cpInfoElapsedTimeMS (it would be so nice if it had immediate formatting options as for the current date ).Now, I need this ElapsedTime to look readable, not just in seconds but as a human timing as for a video.
So then in the advanced action I try to execute a Javascript which is:

Well, let's add that I declared all my variables in CP and that on my slide I inserted $$Duration$$
The answer I receive is 0 when running everything. So can anybody tell me what I did wrong, and ideally tell me how to do it right?

Stopping Main Audio for Triggered Audio
Hi,
I have a page where audio is playing, and then an image and a button display half way through. The button triggers an Advanced Action that displays another image, the Forward button, and also triggers audio to play.
However, I can't seem to get my main audio to stop playing once the learner triggers the second piece of audio. I had tried adding "Stop Triggered Audio" to my advanced action, but that didn't stop my main audio.
Any ideas?

Publishing from Captivate 10 to YouTube
What is an "Unauthorized JavaScript Alert - http://localhost:3981" when one is trying to publish from Captivate 10 to YouTube in a PC environment? This has been most frustrating. If I did not receive this pop up, I received a runtime C++ error, crashing before a publish even began. Thank you in advance for any wisdom and clarity.
